Located in the former premises of the National Bank of Belgium, opposite the Sainte-Waudru collegiate church, this museum offers a fascinating insight in the life of French society from the reign of Louis XVI to the Restoration. Dedicated to decorative art, its collections feature quite unusual, if not rare, pieces.

Look out for...

... Its prestigious collection of exotic pendulums (1795-1815) unique in the world, exceptional French gilt bronzes, superb porcelains, earthenware, goldsmiths, engravings and jewellery (which includes a precious set of cameos).

The museum also retraces the Napoleonic saga and the famous military man's great discoveries.
