Built in 1872 by Benedictine monks in a neo-Gothic style, this monastery offers pilgrims and tourists a beautiful architectural ensemble. Take a guided tour of the church and grounds including the gardens, library, cemetery, school and workshops.

Facilities: visitors' centre, cafeteria, souvenir shop and bookshop. Bread, cheese and beer tasting. Signposted walks and nature guide by appointment. Free playground

Maredsous Abbey offers guided tours in French and Dutch
Price: €2.50 per person – free for under 12s – discounted rate for older adults and students
During the spring, summer, autumn, Easter and Christmas school holidays: every day (except Friday) at 2pm and 4pm. Ticket office open from 1pm at the visitors' centre booth.
The rest of the year, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays at 2pm and 4pm

Outside these periods and times, by reservation only (by post, email or fax)

A film (20 min) in French and Dutch is screened free if requested by visitors in a hall in the St Joseph Visitors' Centre
