Those were the days when a wind of change swept across the economy and culture. In Liege until 30/06/13!
During the 60s:
- Nasa mission on the Moon
- Jimi Hendrix in Woodstock
- Mao ans his little red book
- Martin Luther King has a Dream
- France in May 1968
- Eddy Merckx "the Cannibal"
- the assassination of Kennedy
- women's rights
- hippies
- Yéyé culture
- and so much more!
All of this is on show at the Golden Sixties exhibition.
But that's not all!
The Golden Sixties also features:
- a prestigious venue: the Liège-Guillemins TGV train station
- the "I was 20 in 1945" exhibition
- a fascinating scenography
- the 1st international exhibition on the subject!
The Sixties were a period of prosperity and expansion: masses of new jobs, a steep rise in the purchasing power, a new burgeoning middle class with consumer habits and an urge for technological innovations.
Martine
A complementary exhibition on comic book heroine Martine is open at the end of the Golden Sixties exhibition, until the 30/06/13 and free of charge.
You will discover the complete collection of first editions, foreign editions as well as decors inspired by the comic books.
Comic books translated into 50 different languages will also be visible.
You can even discover the different stages of the creation of a comic book, from the development of an idea to printing.
To illustrate this evolution, the Marcel Marlier family have exhibited dozens of original and never before seen comic strips and documents.
The scenography and audio-visual pieces will plunge you into the key moments of our heroine's life in the 60s. A drawing competition will also be organised for your little ones!
The exhibition's highlight is the complete 60-album Martine collection.
The ticket office is open 5.30pm.
It was more than just a decade, a whole different world will reveal itself to you!
