  • Folklore and Tradition

The Notre-Dame d'Ittre procession has been taking place in 1384 and follows a traditional itinerary with three altars along the way. Join us every year on August 15th.

Notre-Dame d'Ittre was prayed upon, for centuries, whenever plagues, fevers and other natural issues would come up. Her speciality, though, was healing hernias and medical ruptures. In the 19th century, the pilgrimage was considered the third most important in the region after Hal and Montaigu. The modern-day procession features banners, the village marching band and cavaliers.

  • Mass at 9.30 am at the church.
  • Departure at 10.30 am
  • Procession followed by a funfair, concerts, dancing till late in the night
