MAITRANK FESTIVAL

MAITRANK FESTIVAL
© Ville d'Arlon

Every year, the town of Arlon celebrates its famous local beverage, the Maitrank : a light dry white wine based aperitif in which a strong smelling "aspérule" is soaked as well as oranges and a subtle liqueur. This is a typical seasonal drink of the region. On this ocassion, wind sectons and traditional groups parade through the town. There is no shortage of maitrank and in the centre of the town a fountain of the beverage flows freely while a show is enacted on Léopold Square.
