The Andenne-Saint Hubert pilgrimage is a cherished tradition in Wallonia, said to have started after the terrible 1696 plague and cholera epidemics... A handful of men decided to walk to Saint Hubert and pray. The outbreaks seem to stop when they reached their destination:  a promise to return every two years, as a token of gratefulness, was then made.

This 150 km walk (to Saint Hubert and back) is done over 3 days. Participants get on their way the eve of Pentecost, just after the 4 am mass, tarting from the collegiate church and return on Whit Monday, towards the end of the afternoon.

This event takes place on even numbered years.
